Global Challenge to Prevent Breast Cancer
For this campaign, my client was The University of California’s California Breast Cancer Research Program (CBCRP). The CBCRP is holding a global competition for researchers and advocates to submit bold research ideas for preventing breast cancer. The best ideas will help inform $15 million in grant funding the CBCRP will disseminate over the next five years.
My contributions to the campaign included:
• Landing page designs for CBCRP.org
The logo design is inspired by a spark, a symbol of both hope and ideas. There are seven rays extending from the spark, with one in a different color, which signifies the average one in seven women who will be victims of breast cancer. The colored spark also looks like an exclamation point, another symbol for ideas.
The brand identity uses inspiring imagery and everyday women of all demographics. The color pink is avoided to differentiate this campaign from breast cancer awareness campaigns, as this initiative focuses on preventing breast cancer, as opposed to finding a cure.
